Otto Pretorius PDF Print E-mail

Otto Pretorius, is the Principle Thought Leader & Director of the Qbit Group. Initially, Otto was the director of Qbit Align (Pty) Ltd, qualified as a psychologist in 1995 at the Buffalo State University, USA.  Prior to this he obtained a B.Comm degree, majoring in Accounting, a B.Comm Honours degree in Information Systems and a Master's degree in Information Sciences at the University of Pretoria, RSA.

Otto's diverse background as founding member of Caritas (an international, community based organisation), researcher of USAID (evaluating literacy levels in Africa), senior lecturer in Information Systems and later the director of the Institute for Creative Thinking as well as a practicing psychologist, developed his numerous skills to an outstanding level, particularly in facilitating the appropriate implementation of technology.

Since 1997 he has started to focus on business only.  As managing director of Mind Crew, senior business consultant of Ernst & Young and director at Qbit, he has nurtured his ability to focus on the dynamic interface between people, business processes and technology from an operational and strategic perspective.

Over the past nine years he has focused on the Human Capital environment and its potential to become a strategic business partner. This has led him to a number of interim executive management positions and his clients include among others Old Mutual, Medscheme, First National Bank, Rand Merchant Bank and Momentum.

As a director and shareholder of Qbit Align, Otto was the thought leader who played a major role in the development of Qbit's trademarks, models and methodology.  Several illuminating articles and papers by Otto, especially on the topic of HR issues in the workplace, have been published and presented at numerous local and international conferences.
